Job Description

Recruitment of Officers - AP » TN & KNTA.

Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for appointment as officers in Grade-I (Assistant Managers) for our branches in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

The candidates shall possess the following qualifications:

1. Educational Qualification as on 31/03/2009:

Discipline Minimum marks;
1 Graduates/Post Graduates in Science 60%
2 Graduates/Post Graduates in Arts, Commerce and others 55%
3 Professional qualifications (Graduation/ Post Graduation) 60%

Candidates who have acquired the above qualification/s from any of the recognized Indian Universities only will be considered.

2. Upper Age limit : 26 years as on 31/03/2009

• Relaxation for SC/ST candidates : 5 years

• Relaxation in upper age limit will also be considered for candidates who have work experience in a scheduled commercial bank as an officer/ a clerk. The relaxation in age will be for a maximum of 4 years or the period of actual service, whichever is less.

3. Candidates shall be:

• Well versed in MS Windows, MS Word, Excel etc.
• Permanent residents of the respective states and shall be proficient in the local language. Sufficient evidence to prove the permanent residence like attested true copy of Voters Identity Card/ relevant pages of Passport/ Ration Card shall be produced along with the Application.


4. Selection Procedure:

Selection will be based on a written test/skill test and a personal interview. Candidates who will be qualified in the written test/skill test will only be called for the personal interview.
Candidates shall appear for the written test/skill test and interview at their own expense at places/on the dates notified by the Bank.

5. Place of Posting:

Selected candidates will be posted in any of the branches/offices of the Bank located in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. However, the Bank reserves the right to transfer them to any of its branches/offices solely at its discretion.

7. Pay and Perquisites

Officers in Grade-I will be eligible for a starting basic pay of Rs.10000/- in the scale of pay of Rs.10000-470/6-500/3-560/7-Rs.18240/-. They will also be eligible for D.A., H.R.A. and C.C.A. wherever applicable. Total starting monthly emoluments will be around Rs.15000/-(Rupees fifteen thousand only) and may vary depending upon the place of posting.


8. Probation period

Candidates selected for appointment will be posted as Probationary Assistant Manager and will be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining duty. Bank reserves the right to extend the period of probation for any further period/s or to terminate the services even during the period of probation without any notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever. Individual business targets will be fixed for each Financial Year and the personal achievements of the targets will be counted for assessing the performance even during the probation period.

On successful completion of the probation period, the candidates will be confirmed in the Bank’s service as Assistant Manager in Grade-I.
Besides the monthly emoluments officers on confirmation will also be eligible for perquisites in the form of provident fund/contributory pension/leave fare concession/medical aid/ medical reimbursement for self and dependents, loans at concessional rate of interest and other perquisites as per Bank's rules and regulations in force from time to time.

9. General Instructions

a. Incomplete Applications

Applications which are incomplete, without true copies of certificates and those received after the last date are liable to be rejected with out any notice or intimation.

b. False information/ unfair means

In the event of the particulars furnished in the Application being false/ fabricated, the candidature of the applicant will be cancelled forthwith. Resorting to unfair means/cheating during the course of examination and in the selection process will result in an automatic disqualification.

c. Certificates/ Credentials

Only attested true copies of the certificates/ credentials need be submitted. Originals of the certificates/credentials need not be submitted and the Bank will not be responsible for loss of original certificates/credentials, if submitted along with the application. However, the originals will be required for verification at the time of appearing for the interview.

d. Canvassing

Canvassing in any form will be treated as a disqualification.

e. Jurisdiction

The jurisdiction for any legal action in respect of this recruitment will be at Thrissur, Kerala.

The decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility, conduct of the examination, interview and selection will be final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence will be entertained regarding the matter.

The policy they laid down has been consistently upheld by the successive generations who guided the destiny of the institution. The bank commenced business on January 1st, 1921 with an authorised capital of Rs.5 lakhs and a paid up capital of Rs. 45270/-
